Clearwater Krista auxiliary riding lights

Clearwater Krista auxiliary riding lights

We bought these direct from Clearwater in the USA for fitting to our lead guide’s R1200GS. Very impressed !! These triple LED lights use Clearwater’s updated electronics with a new 8 degree pencil beam optic and boast over 3000 lumens (up from their previous 2400). They really are amazingly powerful, but not blinding for other road users.

They come with easy to follow installation instructions, and full wiring harnesses and hardware pack are supplied to mount to your specific bike. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the lights mounted easily on to our Altrider engine bars. This gives the desired ‘triangle configuration’ of auxiliary lights and headlight which has been shown to be most effective in getting you noticed by car drivers.

Our 2016 BMW GS has their famous CAN electrical system and the lights were supplied with Clearwater’s ‘CANopener’ harness (left arrow) . This enabled the lights to plug into the BMW CAN harness on our LC GS1200 via the tyre pressure sensor module (right arrow) under the passenger seat and then the rider can control the lights from the handlebar jog wheel (pretty cool…). Brightness can be set on a scale of 1-10 and a series of options are available for flashing, strobing with hazard lights, etc. We set them up to be on brightness level 5 ( still very bright) when daylight riding with dipped headlights, and to increase in brightness when full beam was selected.

A cool feature is that they can also be coupled to the horn so a horn blast activates maximum brightness, giving an unmissable visual as well as an audible ‘HEY, I AM HERE !!’ warning.
Overall highly recommended
