Morocco truly is a haven for the touring motorcyclist, if you want to feed your wanderlust then look no further. It is a breath-taking country of contrasts from the gorgeous coastal regions to the magnificent mountains and their winding passes, lush forests, verdant oasis and barren desert landscapes. This tour allows you to ride it all.

You start by journeying across the Bay of Biscay from Plymouth to Santander before riding the entire length of Spain taking in National parks and the High Sierras. From the straight of Gibraltar you take the fast ferry across to Tangier and then ride up into the mountains and gorges of the countryside around Chefchaouen. You’ll visit the famous city of Fez, with an entire day to explore the sights, before moving on to the Middle Atlas Mountains and the breath-taking Gorge de Ziz.

After overnighting in a desert camp and having another full day to explore the dunes you ride the Todra Gorges into the High Atlas Mountains and then the Valley du Dades on the way back down. One of the highlights of the tour is the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at an altitude of 2500m, this is one of the finest roads in Africa and is guaranteed to take your breath away.

You visit Marrakesh with another full day to explore before moving on to the Moroccan capital at Rabat, for a visit to the King Mohammed Golden Mausoleum on our way back up the coast. From Tangier we hop back across into Spain and spend a few days leisurely making our way back northwards before spending an afternoon in the Picos de Europa and then catching the overnight ferry home.

Riding to Morocco on your own motorcycle really is an unforgettable experience. This trip is an adventure into Africa and not a trip all about racing around hairpins so be prepared for interesting road conditions, a different standard of hotels to continental Europe and the occasional herd of donkeys on the road! We have designed this to be 100% on road so its suitable for everything from Harleys to Bergmans and all bikes in between. So why not come and spend a 19 days with us riding the passes and gorges of the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, visiting ancient roman cites, frantic souks and majestic imperial cities…

Highlights of the tour

  • Picos de Europa and High Sierras in Spain
  • Mountain of Jebel Tisouka
  • Fez, Marrakech and the Imperial Rabat
  • Middle and High Atlas plateaus
  • Gorge de Ziz and Todra Gorge
  • One of the finest mountain passes in Africa, the Tizi-n-Tichka

Where to start… scenery? Check. Friendly locals? Check. Good food? Check. Great hotels? Check. Trip of a lifetime? Without a doubt. Just got back from the Morocco tour, having done some touring abroad before I thought I knew what to expect. Boy was I wrong. What an incredibly country, the scenery literally takes your breath away, food of every description, comfortable clean hotels at the end of a satisfying day’s ride and all on well-maintained roads an expertly led to boot. Our guide clearly knows his stuff, the itinerary didn’t feel too regimented and there was a really relaxed air within the group, I would happily recommend it to anyone who wants a different holiday. Don’t worry about being out of your depth, its easily manageable for anyone with some riding experience, Go for it!

Day 19 Arrive in Plymouth and savour the memories of a trip of a lifetime!

Roll off the ferry from Spain for a tantalising taste of north Africa. Morocco is a fantastic winter escape for motorcyclists. The diversity of the landscape provides riding possibilities to suit all tastes. Traffic is light and the main road surfaces are reasonable. The adventurous can tackle mule tracks, dry riverbeds… enjoy isolated riding on the wild mountain switchbacks of the Rif Mountains, or cruise along the Atlantic coast.
