Day 1 You’ll start with a day’s cross country ride straight off the Tunnel through northern France riding along the Route D Epinal via The Douaumont ossuary WW1 war memorial at Verdun.
Day 2 The start of the real riding is here, lunch is taken in eastern France and then you enter Germany via the beautiful sweeping curves of the Vosges mountains. The afternoon brings you into the Black Forest region before you reach your well-deserved hotel near Baden-Baden.
Day 3 Begins with the famous B500 with its smooth tarmac and flowing curves and takes you through Bavaria before arriving at the hotel on the border with Austria.
Day 4 You’ll continue into Austria today through the foothills of the Tyrol to your base for the next 2 nights near Zell am See.
Day 5 / Rideout day with destinations to pick and choose from including:
• Grossglockner high alpine road, the highest mountain pass in Austria
• Malta Hochalmstrasse
• Nockalmstrasse passes
• 3 Countries Tour – breakfast in Austria, lunch in Slovenia, afternoon tea (or ice cream) in Italy and back to base for your evening meal!
Day 6 / Back through the Austrian Alps you go with a possible side trip up to the Eagle’s nest in Berchtesgaden, Hitler’s summer retreat. then down to your hotel surrounded by cuckoo clocks at the base of the mountains.
Day 7 / You make you way through southern Germany and into the Vosges region of France via the acclaimed riding roads of the Route des Crêtes.
Day 8 / From the Vosges you ride back across France before bedding down at your final overnight stop in the Cathedral city of Reims.
Day 9 / Hearty breakfast and then onto the channel tunnel for the last leg of the trip home…
Increasing the trip to an 11 day tour allows you to stay for 2 extra nights in Austria and ride more of the routes or to relax and explore at your own pace.
