Norway and Sweden 1 Scandinavia and the Arctic Circle Trip Report August 2023
Day 1
SCANDINAVIA & THE ARCTIC CIRCLE 2023 – Day 1 – we are good to go. Bring it on 
Day 2
We made it through torrential rain with sneaky sunshine bursts lulling us into a false sense of sunshine before opening the heavens. We have done all of Holland in a day, and now we are settling in to Germany very nicely.
Bring it on. Looking forward to what’s to come.
Day 3
Three ferries, one puncture and some nice roads (kinda spoiled by gale force winds making it a little scary at times 
) but we have made it here. — at Hotel “Alte Post”.
Day 4
I cannot take credit for these. We have some keen American photographers in the group who are now officially our social media content providers. Thanks guys.
Unfortunately today was a bit of a write off with hurricane force winds on the forecast we swapped it out for a day off in the lovely harbour town of Flensburg…which also has epic motorbike stores!
Day 5
Lovely evening in the hotel.
Day 6
We arrived to be greeted by the sunshine. And even though it’s almost 9pm and I only just got in due to a sat nav detour!?! I think today is maybe my favourite ride ever done and apparently it will only get better. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️🏍️🏍️ So here are various snaps of our day today.
Day 7
Wow 
this country is STUNNING! What a day! Amazing roads. And the views are insane. The view from my balcony is breathtaking. 
Day 8
What another awesome day of riding. Word of warning to folks five days behind us – in the 25km tunnel pull over into the blue by lanes to take a break. It was hard work to stay alert.
Day 9
A day off today. Some walked and they walked and they walked and then had to walk back UP! Some rode hair-pins galore. Others took a more relaxing ride. And the sun stayed with us all the way.
Day 10
Wow what a day and ending in the most stunning setting ever. These are just a few of the many photo’s from today.
Day 11
Today we departed from the fabulous fishing village of Haholmen after an amazing night, with incredible food and boiling sunshine. It was a bit of a “motorway” Norwegian style today but we kicked it off in style departing via Viking Ship.
Day 12
Another beautiful route today ending in Mo I Rana for two nights, seeing us cross the Arctic Circle tomorrow 
Day 13
Today was so much fun. We crossed the Arctic Circle and the roads were lovely and the sun was out for the most part. Tomorrow we depart from the glorious Norway and head down through Sweden.
Day 14
Well after the epicness of Norway, Sweden hasn’t disappointed.
We started the day at 4 degrees and ended around 20. Lovely riding. Amazing cakes as promised by Magellan Motorcycle Tours and lots of lovely views of beautiful lakes.
Day 15
Working our way down Sweden. We ended the day on some super fun twisties and super hot sunshine.
Day 16

Day 17
Today we rode the rest of Sweden. By the time we reached the ferry it was HOT.
Day 18
Sadly we are heading back south towards home. Our guide promised us “very good weather” today in true Michael Fish style and we boldly headed into what can only be described as a biblical storm dressed for summer. In all fairness the rest of the day got hotter and sunnier and more lovely. So we rode the whole of Denmark in a day and end back in the lovely Flensburg.
Day 19
Farewell supper tonight. It’s been an awesome three weeks, great group, fabulous riding and a super guide in Mark Johnson. We have had sun and rain, a million tunnels and ferries and fjords, done it all, loved it all.
