Our tour starts with a night in Folkestone, on the south coast of the UK, so you're ready to take the Eurotunnel to Calais the next morning. From here we head to our stop in the stunning French city of Reims before venturing through eastern France and into Germany via the beautiful Vosges mountains. The afternoon’s ride brings us into the Black Forest region and to our hotel in Baden Baden to rest up before taking on one of the most iconic biking roads in Germany.

The B500 is one of the oldest and most well-known roads not only in Germany but across Europe, with bikers from every corner coming year on year to ride the famous twisties it has to offer. We ride this infamous road before venturing down through Bavaria and to our next stop on the border with Austria. The following morning we cross a breathtaking road between Austria and Italy- the Timmelsjoch pass, with huge open vistas and hairpins aplenty it’s sure to blow you away!

Is there a country more synonymous with speed and glamour than Italy? This tour has it all, with mountain passes from James Bond and incredible stays on the Italian lakes.

Amazing Alps

After a peaceful night in a small alpine resort we carry on riding through snow capped mountains and twisting our way past the picturesque Lake Idro to make our way down to the largest lake in Italy, Lake Garda, and to our hotel on the shore where we can enjoy a well deserved day off.

Our day off in Lake Garda comes with options in and out of the saddle, there are planned rideouts for those still raring to go (including one tracing the steps of several James Bond car chases) or you can also spend the day island hopping on the boats around Lake Garda itself or take to the skies over the lake in the cable car where the views are truly spectacular.

-------

-------

The iconic Stelvio Pass

We then say goodbye to the tranquillity of the Lake and head towards the world famous Stelvio pass, soaring to a height of 9045ft above sea level this dramatic mountain pass was voted as the best driving road in 2008 by Top Gear and still remains a biking bucket list for many. After the excitement of the Stelvio we head down into Switzerland to bed down before getting ready to ride the 5 greatest mountain passes the Swiss have to offer the next day!

Get in touch with your inner James Bond not once but twice as we ride the Susten, Grimsel and Furka pass, immortalised by the car chase in Goldfinger, then tackle the 37 cobbled hairpins on the St Gotthard pass and reach dizzy heights on the Nufenen before relaxing at the hotel in the high Alps. From here we cross back into France riding sections of the Tour de France route, visit the memorial in Verdun and overnight in the Vosges mountains before your final night and a farewell meal in Calais, ready to cross the Channel home the next day.

When the moon hits your eye like a big piece of pie ….. That’s a Magellan Italian motorbike tour!

Common questions about this trip

Can I get a different crossing on this trip?

Of course, many of our clients cross by ferry from further north. If you would like to do this and meet the group at the hotel on the first night just let us know in the comments section of your booking form and we will deduct the cost of the Eurotunnel crossing from your booking.

What will the weather be like on this tour?

The weather can of course be changeable but it will be nice and warm generally once down into Italy with chances of rain potentially at higher altitudes in the Dolomites and Swiss Tyrol. Full kit and packing lists are supplied and we are happy to offer advice on packing for any of the trips.
