From Oslo, Norway's remarkable landscapes unfold as we head north through forested valleys, sweeping roads and mountain scenery towards Otta and Verdal.
As the journey turns west, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic. Waterfalls tumble down steep mountainsides, deep fjords cut through the countryside and the roads offer a wonderful introduction to motorcycle touring in Norway.
One of the early highlights is a memorable overnight stay at an unusual island hotel, accessible only by boat.
The following day brings one of the great experiences of any Norway motorcycle tour: the Atlantic Road. This remarkable stretch of coastal tarmac connects a series of small islands through sweeping bridges, with the Norwegian Sea stretching out on either side.
From here, our route turns inland towards Geiranger, where we spend two nights surrounded by some of Norway's most extraordinary fjord and mountain scenery.
Leaving Geiranger, we continue south through some of Norway's most spectacular fjord landscapes. A scenic ferry crossing offers a different perspective on the towering mountains and waterways before we ride through the extraordinary Lærdal Tunnel, the world's longest road tunnel. Emerging into another beautiful stretch of Norwegian countryside, we head to Ulvik, a charming village overlooking Hardangerfjord and our base for the next stage of the adventure.
With time to explore the surrounding region, riders can discover the sweeping roads and vast mountain landscapes of the Hardangervidda plateau or venture towards Norway's impressive glacier country. Our guides help make the most of the available routes and conditions, balancing memorable riding with opportunities to appreciate the scenery. From Ulvik, the final leg takes us back to Oslo, bringing nine days of remarkable roads, dramatic fjords, mountain passes and shared experiences to a memorable close.

Day 1 Arrival Day
Arrive in Oslo and check into the hotel, where the group comes together ahead of the tour. Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity to explore the Norwegian capital before the welcome briefing and the riding begins.
Day 2 200 Miles
Leave Oslo and ride north through Norway’s interior towards Otta. Forests, rivers and broad valleys make for an easy introduction to Norwegian roads, with the scale of the landscape building as the group moves away from the capital.
Day 3 210 Miles
Continue north through central Norway towards Verdal. Long, flowing roads carry you through increasingly open country, with mountains rising around the route and a growing sense that the western fjords are drawing closer.
Day 4 200 Miles
Turn south-west towards the coast, riding beside Vinjefjord and through a landscape marked by waterfalls, steep valley sides and small waterside communities. The day finishes with one of the tour’s most distinctive stays, at an island hotel reached by boat.
Day 5 100 Miles
Ride the Atlantic Road, linking islands and skerries by a remarkable series of bridges on the edge of the ocean. From the coast, turn inland and continue towards Geiranger, your base for the next two nights at the head of one of Norway’s most spectacular fjords.
Day 6 Explore/Ride Out Day
Spend a full day exploring the roads and scenery around Geiranger. Subject to conditions, ride Trollstigen and the Road of the Eagles for an unforgettable combination of hairpins and high mountain viewpoints, or choose a gentler day with time on Geirangerfjord itself.
Day 7 200 Miles
Leave Geiranger and continue south through classic fjord scenery, including a short cruise that gives a different perspective on the landscape. Back on the road, pass through the extraordinary Lærdal Tunnel before riding on to Ulvik beside Hardangerfjord.
Day 8 Explore/Ride Out Day
Use Ulvik as the base for another outstanding day in western Norway. Ride across the stark Hardangervidda plateau on a favourite local motorcycling road, or head towards glacier country for a contrasting route through high mountain scenery.
Day 9 200 Miles

Is Norway as expensive as people say?
In a word, yes. Although lunches are quite reasonable where we plan the stops, the real kicker is the cost of alcohol in some of the hotels but there is always a shop nearby if you want to go and get a couple of beers or a bottle of wine to enjoy on the terraces.
I’ve heard the speed limits are really low in Norway, is this true?
In some areas they can be fairly low but most roads are in the usual 80/90kmph limit you would expect from any European country. Speed cameras in general are forward facing so not so much of an issue on bikes and police are few and far between although if caught speeding fines can be means tested and very high so do take care.
What’s the weather like on this tour?
Changeable, but we schedule departures for the best summer window in Scandinavia. Expect anything from cool, bright days in the teens °C to single digits with wind-chill in the far north – and occasional showers anywhere. Pack as you would for UK early-autumn riding: breathable base layers, a warm mid-layer, a waterproof outer, lightweight gloves, and (ideally) heated grips. We’ll send a full kit list with your tour pack and are always happy to advise.
