Starting in Malaga, you'll meet us at the staging hotel for the welcome dinner where you'll get to know your fellow riders. Our sunny adventure will begin the following day with a day's training at a private 30 acre facility where riders will be split by ability and put through the BMW approved training program suitable for their level.

After this we all leave Malaga and begin putting our new found skills into practice over several days of trail riding. This will take us along the coast to Tarifa, the windsurfing capital of the world. We'll continue from there and ride past the famous Andalusian white villages on our way to historic Cadiz with a mix of paved roads and scenic trails.

The final section of the tour takes us through the gorgeous Sierras of Grazalema national park and under the bridge at Ronda before returning to our staging hotel for the final night of the tour. The trip is perfect for riders of all ability levels and is supported the whole way by Magellan's team of certified Tour Guides and IIA BMW Motorrad off-road Instructors.

Common questions about this trip

Is this trip suitable for pillions?

No, these training trips are geared up to solo riders in single or shared rooms only. If you want to bring your partner along in your room for the social side of things we can help arrange a rental car so they can follow the trip, just drop the office an email and we’ll take care of the rest. Alternatively if you want to do some private training with a pillion we can arrange this on dates to suit you, again get in touch with us direct and we can price this up for you.

What ability levels are these tours designed for?

We cater for all abilities on these tours, we’ve had groups brand new to off-roading, groups of seasoned enduro riders and everything in between. We tailor the training and riding elements of each tour to everyone’s level throughout so you’re guaranteed to have a great time and learn a load of new skills no matter your experience level.

How big are the groups on these trips

We split riders down into small groups of around 6 per instructor for the training and riding sections to ensure an even spread of abilities and a personal experience for everyone. The group will meet up at lunch and coffee stops but is usually around 10-12 in total.

What bikes are available on these trips?

We have a fleet of current model year R1250GS to choose from with the option of lowered suspension on request.

How much of the trip is off-road?

Most of the trips end up being about 50% off-road and 50% paved but we’ll tailor the riding on each trip to the riders ability and energy levels so these % can fluctuate.

What’s the weather like on this tour?

We pick the date of this trip to get the best mix of riding conditions on the different elevations we cover. As you go to elevation it can be a little chilly but the rest of the trip should be sunny and warm, a sensible mix of vented kit and waterproofs with some base layers should cover all eventualities.

Is what I hear about the Spanish not eating until 10pm correct?

The Spanish do indeed eat late, in fact it’s not unusual for people to go out for dinner at 11pm or later. We’ve tailored the trip to take in English sensibilities and rumbling bellys after a long day’s ride though and normally eat between 8 – 8.30pm
